Trickster (the Castaneda podcast) is pretty great. My mind was blown by how much detail the podcast had on Castaneda's (seemingly hidden) back story. I didn't know there was that much actually known about him--which is a real testament to his efforts to "erase his personal history." So kudos to the amazing research for the podcast. Castaneda's work is both powerful and beautiful--despite the fact he appears to have been a conman and an abuser--to say nothing of an out an out cult leader.
Tricksters! One of my favorite subjects (so is Paul Reubens). I just recently read Wes Nisker's CRAZY WISDOM -- the trickster's spirit from a Buddhist perspective. Funny and insightful. Nisker's a trickster himself, or was. He died recently.
My favorite trickster book is Jaime de Angulo's INDIAN TALES, which I had the immense pleasure to read aloud to my kid when they were young.
Thanks for the Huldufólk link, nice to re-enchant the room after the trickster podcast!
Ha! I know what you mean.

Agreed. And it just kept coming with stories and interviews and insights... the Fellini episode was too much!
